WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT, TARA's UK tour to junior schools 2009

TARA tours their captivating 50-minute show of India's greatest festival - Divali - to junior schools this autumn, WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT.

Using Participatory Theatre techniques, two performers draw children into the world of the legendary lovers, Sita and Rama, of Hanuman the wondrous monkey king, and of course of the terrifying ten-headed demon-king Ravana.Scarves, masks, dance and song, are the performers' tools as they bring to vivid life the magical world that has inspired the Festival of Divali, creating a vibrant show for children and adults alike.

For audiences of a maximum of 120 children per performance, the production will particularly support Key Stage 2 teaching in Religious Education & English: Speak and Listening; and will help promote pupils' creativity across the national curriculum.
